Chemical Drum And Tank Test Matters Need Attention

The specifications of plastic chemical barrels are 5L, 10L, 16L, 18L, 20L, 25L, 30L, 50L, 60L, 120L, 150L, 120L, 200L, 1000L, etc.and the chemical tank need some different methods and different levels test to make sure the quality of each product.

 

1. Air tightness test:

The number of samples is three; test equipment: air tightness testing machine. Clamp the container including the closure device for 5 Min below the water surface while applying internal air pressure. The clamping method should not affect the test results. For type I packaging, the pressure is not less than 30Kp, and for type II and III packaging, the pressure is not less than 20Kp. Qualification requirements: all samples have no leakage.

 

2. Hydraulic test :

The number of samples is three; test equipment: hydraulic testing machine for dangerous packaging goods. In accordance with the requirements of national standard, the pressure of type Ⅰ packaging is not less than 250Kp, and the experiment time is 30Min. The pressure of type Ⅱ and type III packaging is not less than 100Kp and the experiment time is 30Min. Qualification requirements: all samples have no leakage.

3. High temperature stacking experiment:

Three samples, experimental equipment: constant temperature chamber, press. Apply pressure on the top of the experimental sample, the ambient temperature is not less than 40 ℃, stacking time 28D; stacking weight (P unit is KG) calculation formula: P = [H (stacking height 3m)-h (single package height 0.9 m)] ÷h (the height of a single package is 0.9m) × m (the gross weight of a single product)

Example: The test sample weighs 10KG, the content is 220KG, and the stacking weight is (3-0.9)÷0.9×230=536KG.

Qualification requirements: all samples should not leak, and the test samples should not be damaged that affects transportation safety, or reduce their strength or cause unstable packaging and stacking conditions to deform or collapse.

 

4. Permeability test

The number of samples is three. Test conditions and test methods: After the test samples are filled with the intended contents, they should be stored for 28D at a temperature of 23℃±2℃ and a relative humidity of 50%±2%. Weigh the samples before and after the 28D storage period. Quality and calculate its permeability. Pass the test standard: the permeability does not exceed 0.008G/H.

 

5. Low temperature drop test

The number of samples is six, and the test equipment: freezer compartment, drop machine. Test conditions and test methods: Before the test, the sample and its contents should be frozen to -18°C or lower, and a total of two drops, three times as a set of drops. ***Falling 3 animals should hit the impact board with the convex edge of the sample or its seam. The other 3 were dropped for the second time. The position of this drop was the weakest part of the non-impact position that hit the impact plate; the cylindrical barrel should hit the seam line.

Calculation method of drop height:

If the density of the content is close to the density applied for inspection, the drop height is 1.8m for Type I packaging, 1.2m for Type II packaging, and 0.8m for Type III packaging.

If water is used as the content to fall, there are two situations:

1. The density of the content does not exceed 1.2, and the drop height is 1.8m for Type I packaging, 1.2m for Type II packaging, and 0.8m for Type III packaging.

2. The content density exceeds 1.2, and the drop height is: Type I packaging d (density of test application) × 1.5, Type II packaging d (density of test application) × 1.0, and Type III packaging (density of test application) × 0.67.

Due to the constraints of the actual situation and the popularization of product knowledge, ordinary customers will use the drop height as the criterion. Our existing products, containing recycled materials, have a drop height of 1.6 meters for a double ring 9kg drum without breaking twice. If the customer has higher requirements.

The company should be notified in advance to adjust the raw material formula and make adjustments during delivery. Regarding stacking issues, we can explain to customers that the products need to be rigid and flexible, especially in the summer high temperature, and stacking is required while ensuring the fall. The drop test can only be used as part of the packaging quality assessment.
